Advancing Communities Forward
Advance Child Care’s latest venture into Intergenerational Services is the establishment of an Economic Community Development division, Advancing Communities Forward.
The mission of Advancing Communities Forward (ACF) is to assist struggling rural communities with senior housing and social services, such as parks, community centers, and digital libraries.
There are a number of rural communities and municipalities that lack the necessary resources due to two main factors:
- Low to no ad valorem tax revenues
- Low to no commerce (bedroom communities)
Consequently, the community or municipality only collects utility tax fees that allow for little to no maintenance of their roads and ditches, much less providing social services for their residents.
ACF solicits grant funds on behalf of a municipality to subsidize the municipality’s annual revenue and structures a plan for the municipality to parlay these funds into social services that enhance the lives of its residents.
One project ACF is particularly engaged in is our Helping Hands Initiative, where grant funds help build Senior Housing, which in turn provides a municipality with enough funds to improve their roadways and/or build a community center.
